Welcome back! It’s been a while since I posted, June was the last occasion if I remember rightly, but I’ve had a lot going on in my personal life, some good and some bad (mostly good) and as a result, I’ve been neglecting the website. Apologies for this, it won’t happen again. Now things have settled and I have a routine organised, I can blog once or twice a week quite easily.
During this time away, I have managed to secure a position as an intern with Inquisitr, a news website that reports and details the latest trending topics on the web. Articles vary, but it gives me another outlay for my writing which enables me to remain primed and focused.
Since taking this position, I have managed to become more creative, upping my daily written word count to 3,000 words or more. This, to me, is a huge achievement. With it has come various writing opportunities, some of which I will be blogging about this week, and it has also allowed me ample time to focus on my editing duties for Dark Chapter Press, who funnily enough are the topic of discussion tomorrow.
Inquisitr has also revived my creative passion. My previous day job sapped this immensely, which is never good for an author, who needs that daily dose of inspiration. Replacing it with writing was a wise move, one that will benefit my readers in due course. With a busy schedule of releases ahead, the timing was perfect.
On that note, my next three releases are now primed and ready to go.
Cine is set for a release on September 10, whilst Grin follows on October 31, mimicking the release date of Charlotte last year. On November 30, Whispers – Volume 2: A Second Collection is unleashed, featuring several of my favourite short stories such as The Tale of Sadie Barker, Casualty of War, Inadmissable, Animalocalypse, and Hodmedod, to name a few. It also features a foreword from Mark Parker, the darkly inquisitive editor of Dead Harvest. I am awaiting cover art for this book so watch this space.
Heading into 2015, I have so much more in store for you. Details will follow shortly…
That’s it for today, but tomorrow I bring you news of an exciting event in the Dark Chapter Press calender. Until then…
