Good news! My short story, ‘Hodmedod’, has been accepted into the Dead Harvest – A Collection of Dark Tales anthology. Four anthologies in one year…I couldn’t be more honoured.
Just look at that phenomenal cover!
Dead Harvest is an anthology that deals with the seasonal macabre. Due to be released on September 22nd, the day of the Autumnal Equinox – the first official day of the Season of the Harvest – this anthology features some of the best horror authors in the field today. Featuring stories from horror alumni Jeff Strand, Lori R. Lopez, James A. Moore, Bram Stoker Nominated Author Billie Sue Mosiman, and Bram Stoker Award winner Benjamin Kane Ethridge, the anthology is going to be immense.
Hodmedod is about a lad’s night gone wrong. Two men wake up, vaguely remembering the debauchery from the night before. As they come to and recollect the events of the previous night, they realise something is horribly wrong. What are the bags over their heads? Why can’t they move their arms? And what is that strange, whispering noise…
The one thing that drew me to this submission process was the unique opportunity to be involved in such a dark, disturbing anthology. And the cornfields. There’s something amazingly creepy about cornfields…something that entices and inspires horror authors. For me, it made me construct a tight, tense story that lives up to the tradition of the harvest. I hope my entry will do the anthology justice.
Dead Harvest – A Collection of Dark Tales Volumes 1 & 2 are available on September 22nd, 2014. The harvest is coming…
